Alctron is honored to introduce the latest members of our DI box series: the DI600-A Active DI Box and the DI300-P Passive DI Box. While each has its own
specific focus in terms of functionality, both are capable of delivering clean, pure sound quality and exceptional detail restoration capabilities!
What impresses the most about these two DI boxes is their solid build quality. The first impression when handling them is that they have a substantial weight,
thanks to the all-metal casing combined with high-quality components, which truly makes one feel that the product is worth every penny. The surface finish is
fine and smooth, and there's a 3mm thick sponge anti-slip pad at the bottom, ensuring both stability during use and an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Sound quality
Both DI boxes incorporate self-developed permalloy transformers, characterized by 1MΩ unbalanced input and 600Ω balanced output, significantly minimizing
load effects.
The internal circuitry also features a combination of German WIMA capacitors and Japanese NICHICON professional audio capacitors, ensuring signal transmission
quality.
The DI600-A, as an active DI box, delivers warm and vintage-flavored tonal characteristics;
While the DI300-P, designed as a passive unit, presents more naturally realistic tonal performance.
Both models feature an ultra-wide frequency response of 10Hz-40kHz, maintaining signal purity without artifacts, and incorporate a 20dB attenuator for
optimized dynamic range control. Notably, they excel in handling extreme signal levels under 1-8V high-drive conditions without introducing distortion,
ensuring pristine performance during abrupt audio transients.
Function design
DI600-A supports switching between active/passive operation modes. In active mode, it enhances signal detail, improves noise ratio, and adds airiness to the
sound; while in passive mode, it maintains pure tone quality, effortlessly adapting to various live scenarios.
DI300-P adopts a passive design with naturally pristine sound, equipped with a professional grounding switch to eliminate hum issues caused by ground loop
problems.
Both DI boxes utilize proprietary broadcast-grade audio transformers to achieve high-impedance-to-low-impedance conversion, ensuring perfect compatibility with mixers, sound cards, and other equipment.
DI300
Features two 6.35mm TS interfaces for input and direct thru (THRU), with the thru jack allowing real-time connection to guitar amplifiers for monitoring.
The control section includes an AMP OUT/INSTRUMENT switch and an attenuation switch, which respectively handle line output signals and direct instrument
signals.
The rear panel is equipped with an XLR output interface, as well as grounding isolation and phase inversion function switches.
DI600
The DI600-A adds a 48V phantom power indicator light on the front panel.
The rear panel features an additional ACTIVE/PASSIVE mode switching switch, providing more flexible operation.
Performance mode
1.Fully passive circuit, no external power required.
2.Delivers pure, natural tone with faithful sound reproduction.
3.Ideal for active instruments (e.g., bass/electric guitars with active pickups).
4.Plug-and-play design for effortless operation.
1.Requires external power supply.
2.Active circuitry enhances signal detail, perfect for low-output instruments.
3.Active noise reduction for significantly improved signal-to-noise ratio.
4.Flat frequency response curve minimizes coloration.
5.Especially suitable for long-distance signal transmission.
The 48V phantom power in DI600-A’s active mode significantly increases headroom, reducing sound distortion for smooth, linear response. It also buffers
and balances signals, ensuring natural, full-bodied tone even at low output levels.
Appearance design
DI300-P features a contrasting sky-blue-and-black color scheme. DI600-A adopts a beige-toned design.
The unique book-style structural design effectively shields the panel switches from external impacts, which is crucial in live performance settings—after all, DI
boxes are often tossed onto the floor during shows, where chaotic cable connections and unpredictable foot traffic make damage all too likely. Both DI boxes
feature an exceptionally durable steel casing that provides excellent protection for the internal components.
Connection Usage
Connecting is very simple: Input via the 6.35mm interface, XLR balanced output, equipped with a -20dB attenuation switch to extend the dynamic range, and
the grounding function effectively eliminates environmental interference.
DI600-A is better suited for traditional electric guitars, acoustic instruments, and other passive pickup equipment;
DI300-P, on the other hand, is better matched with active basses, keyboards, and signal-enhanced devices.
